Abstract:

A historical record of the Crested Newt from close to the center of Bonn was interpreted as being derived from a creek called Melbbach. More probable, however, is a way via the Godesberg creek which at that time did not flow directly into the Rhine but emptied into a big pond in the Hofgarten Park.
