Mammalogy (Mammals)

The Section of Mammalogy was founded in 1936.  First curator was Heinrich Wolf, followed by Ernst von Lehmann, Fritz Dieterlen, Günter Nobis, Rainer Hutterer and Gustav Peters.

Today, Jan Decher (small mammals) and Eva Bärmann (large mammals) are curators of the mammal collection. Please send any inquiries to the appropriate curator. Requests for invasive sampling should follow our guidelines:

Associated with the Section is the Bat Banding Centre.
