Teaching and Courses

Scientists of the ZFMK participate in the teaching activities for bachelor and master studies of the Biological Faculty, University of Bonn, and they supervise masters' and PhD theses. Beyond the curricular courses, the ZFMK offers special training activities in organsimic biology for zoologists (lectures, courses, labs, excursions both home and abroad).

Chair "Systematic Zoology", University Bonn

The director of the ZFMK is also holder of the Chair of Systematic Zoology at the University of Bonn. The Chair of Systematic Zoology has the same focus as the research done at the Museum Koenig.

Margarethe Koenig Award

The Margarethe Koenig Award is an award to fund international female junior scientists shortly after completing their PhD. It is awarded as an employment (TV-L 13), which is limited to 12 months, and should serve as a "stepping stone" for the future academic career.

Organismic Biology, Evolutionary Biology and Palaeobiology

The Master of Science in Organismic Biology, Evolutionary Biology and Palaeobiology (OEP Biology) is a research-oriented, international study program of the University of Bonn and several research institutes (ZFMK, Steinmann Institute). The major aim is to provide students with a broad understanding of all aspects of Organismic Biology.

The Student Club of the ZFMK

The Student Club at the Museum Koenig promotes exchange and networking among all students. Furthermore, it serves to mediate organizational, technical, and private assistance as well as knowledge.

Colloquium on biology

Scientists from german and international institutions are invited to present and discuss research results on evolution, biodiversity, behavior, genetics and other biological areas.
