With support from DAAD and CAPES through the PROBRAL project, our team investigates the molecular basis and mechanisms underlying the phenotypic evolution of remarkable traits in stingless bees, particularly the intriguing loss of stingers. Using nanopore sequencing, we uncover intricate details of their genomes and transcriptomes. In this exciting project, I employ a comparative genomic approach and powerful bioinformatic tools to unravel the structural and functional patterns within the genetic makeup of bees.
