It is my personal goal to contribute a small part through my research to the understanding of our ecosystem and the conservation of biodiversity. My previous academic career was thereby mainly focused on molecular genetic methods in different model species.
In my doctoral thesis, I can now expand my knowledge in molecular genetics and simultaneously contribute directly to effective insect conservation. Using metabarcoding, I investigate the pull effect of nocturnal lightning at railway stations on insect diversity and how their interference can be reduced in the future.
