The main objective of the BMBF-funded project was to establish an international research consortium, consisting mainly of partners from Eastern and South-eastern Europe, in order to apply for funding for a multinational R&D project within the framework of Horizon 2020 or another EU programme.

The main objective of the BMBF-funded project “International collaboration on the development of automated acoustic biodiversity monitoring tools (BIOMON)” was to establish an international research consortium, consisting mainly of partners from Eastern and South-eastern Europe, in order to apply for funding for a multinational R&D project within the framework of Horizon 2020 or another EU programme. Our scientific and technical objective for the planned EU project was to develop and implement cost-effective systems for automated acoustic biodiversity monitoring in support of habitat management decisions in European ecosystems.
