The exhibition provides insights into the work of a versatile taxidermist and artist, who proved his skills for the Museum Koenig over decades. Wolfgang Hartwig pursued his "passion", the animal observation, in many different ways, and in addition to his profession he expressed himself in different ways: in painted pictures, in the illustration of bird books by renowned publishers (including COLLINS Field Guide) as well as in stamps, which he designed for different countries.
The paintings (oils and acrylics on canvas, watercolors) are on loan from private owners and will be presented to the public for the first time.
