Description

DIVERSify - Designing InnoVative plant teams for Ecosystem Resilience and agricultural Sustainability

In the EU-H2020 project (2016-2021), we work to understand how to optimise the performance of crop species mixtures or ‘plant teams’ to improve yield stability, reduce losses to weeds, pests and diseases, and enhance resilience to environmental change. Working together, a team of international researchers, farmers and other stakeholders, develops evidence and guidance on how to improve the productivity and sustainability of European agriculture through the application of ecological concepts.

At the ZBM, we study how intercropping can help to sustain yield and biodiversity at the same time.
