Every year, the five museums on the “Museumsmeile Bonn” invite you to a big festival on the Museumsmeile. This year, the Museum Mile Festival will take place on May 31, 2025 and June 1, 2025. We open the museum (Saturday & Sunday from 10 am - 6 pm) and the Museum Park (Saturday: 10 am - 10 pm and Sunday: 10 am - 6 pm): Music, lots of activities for the whole family around the current exhibitions on biodiversity research, guided tours behind the scenes and into the scientific collections and much more are on the programme. Selected food trucks will be serving delicious, vegetarian street food on both days and, of course, there will also be plenty to drink!
Free admission on both days!
On Saturday, the museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm and the museum park from 10 am to 10 pm.
On Sunday, the museum and the museum park are open from 10 am - 6 pm.

How can stories bridge scientific and traditional knowledge among Alpine farmers, ecologists, and cultural scholars? This talk will explore how storytelling emerges as an essential tool for understanding and facilitating change in Alpine agriculture. By examining community narratives, it will show how stories arise within various groups to foster resilience, respond to conflict, and support collaborative ecological transformation in the Alps.

The musicians from the Rhineland love Ireland and Irish music, which can be felt in their soulful songs and rousing tune sets! With his wonderful voice, Jens Schumann succeeds in authentically conveying both the melancholy and the rebellious side of Irish songs. Bodhrán (Irish frame drum) and fiddle are a must! Typical instrumental sets of reels or jigs - with one or two polkas, not a foot in the audience should remain still.
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Global overdose! How nitrogen shapes life on earth - reading by Anne Preger
The science journalist and author reads from her award-winning book, which was named Science Book of the Year 2023: If you want to curb the climate crisis and species extinction, if you want clean water and healthy air, you have to do something about the overdose of nitrogen on Earth. The book tells the story of what the world looked like when nitrogen was still a hotly contested scarce commodity, how the overdose came about and what we can all do to combat it.

In this interactive magic show, you will puzzle and laugh together at the fascinating illusions of the two magic triXXers Albin Zinnecker and Ingo Brehm. Join the German masters of magic on an entertaining and amusing journey through the world of magic. And perhaps you too will become part of the show!
From 5.30 p.m. the activity stands close and we invite you to enjoy live music in the park in a beer garden atmosphere - food and drink will be available until 10 p.m.!From 6 p.m. we rock the museum's park:
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Crowns of Recreation - Cover Rock & Pop
The Crowns throw songs that they love or that are simply worth playing into a pot, creating a bubbling playlist of pop, funk, soul and rock. The audience is treated to well-known hits as well as some lesser-known songs that are all the more worth listening to. The band dynamically brings everything from quiet ballads to danceable disco or funk sounds to full-throttle hard rock to the stage. The Crowns of Recreation are eager for the next gig and have a mission: to get you dancing!
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Plenty Forty - Funk & Soul
If you love soul and funk with groovy brass sections, then this band is just right for you. Plenty Fourty consists of 10 musicians from the Bonn region. The cover band inspires with a varied programme that is highly energetic. The audience can expect top-class funk and soul. Plenty Fourty's music gets into your stomach and legs!

hier&jazz - that's Andrea Menden (vocals), Annette Schroeder (piano), Hans Reumann (guitar), Michael Jung (double bass) and Mark Bolz (drums). The band is at home in the Rhineland and in modern jazz. In our spare time they play songs from the Great American Songbook - swing, bossa nova, blues and ballads. This repertoire is complemented by their own compositions.

"Enchanting world of musical angels" Soundscapes: from baroque to musicals and film music. Chamber orchestra Westerwald, soloists of the cello class (Kreismusikschule Altenkirchen) and children's choir of the music school Sankt Augustin in co-operation. Project management: Natalia Kazakova and Tatjana König. About the Westerwald-Sieg Chamber Orchestra: After several years without a chamber orchestra in the Altenkirchen region, the long-standing tradition of the Altenkirchen District Music School was resumed in May 2022 and the Westerwald-Sieg Chamber Orchestra was founded. For the past three years, the string ensemble, which consists of adult and young amateur musicians, has been playing concerts on a wide variety of stages in the region with a colourful repertoire ranging from classical music such as Mozart or Tchaikovsky to modern film music from Pirates of the Caribbean or the James Bond classic Skyfall. The enthusiastic amateur musicians have been under the direction of experienced Bonn cellist and conductor Natalia Kazakova since the beginning of 2025.

Let's Gospel - be there - feel the spirit of gospel with "Sound of Soul" from Bonn-Ippendorf under the direction of Michel SANYA. The choir has been in existence for 3 years - the repertoire consists of contemporary gospel songs in English and African - from solemn and solemn to lively and groovy, everything is included. Gospel music that makes our souls vibrate and our hearts dance!
4:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. The Taste of Woodstock - Music by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Taste of Woodstock. The dream of driving along an American highway, immersing yourself in the vastness and surrendering to the sound of the West Coast. The desire for untamed freedom and the lifestyle of a band community. Taste of Woodstock combine perfect harmony vocals with rhythmic finesse and an enormous joy of playing. Taste of Woodstock present themselves with the young guitarist Felix Franke, who is also causing a furore with his Neil Young tribute band Loner's United. Now the synthesis is complete: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Neil Young, which Felix Franke interprets congenially.
