In the breathtaking wilderness of Svalbard, on the northern edge of the inhabited world, a fascinating animal world unfolds that has adapted to the extreme conditions of the Arctic. This exhibition shows impressive photographs of polar bears, Arctic foxes, walruses and reindeer in their natural habitat - captured in their full splendour and in the midst of untouched icy landscapes.

The images tell of the resilience and beauty of these animals and transport us into a world where life flourishes under the harshest conditions. Let yourself be touched by the silent power of the Arctic and look into the eyes of the true inhabitants of the ice.

The photographer:
Silke Hullmann was born in Düsseldorf and grew up in the Rhineland, where she still lives today. She is passionate about the fascinating beauty and diversity of nature, which repeatedly draws her photographically to remote places around the world. She is particularly drawn to the vastness of the Arctic and the untamed wilderness of the African continent.

Her photographs capture the magic of frozen ice landscapes, endless savannahs, dense rainforests and vast wetlands. With her keen sense of light and perspective - often from a bird's eye view - she creates impressive, colourful images that bring both the power and the delicacy of nature to life. With her photography, she campaigns for the protection of endangered animal species and valuable ecosystems and raises awareness of the urgent need to preserve them.

Silke Hullmann is a full member of the Gesellschaft für Naturfotografie (GDT) and the Naturfototreff Eschmar. Her work has been honoured several times in national and international photography competitions, and she regularly presents her pictures in exhibitions and multi-vision shows.
