The meadow habitat inspires with its lush beauty, richness of species and diversity. Depending on the climate and geography, a distinction is made between alpine mountain meadows, wet and salt marshes, dry and nutrient-poor grasslands and meadow orchards, to name but a few. What they all have in common is that they form a valuable biocoenosis for flora and fauna. Depending on the location, characteristic plant communities of grasses, wild herbs and flowers form breeding, hunting and retreat areas for mammals, reptiles and birds as well as a source of food for insects.
The meadow habitat is also a true natural jewel from a photographic perspective. The wealth of insights, motifs and perspectives enchants us, inviting us to give free rein to our own creative photographic vision: The praying mantis enjoys the summer lightness on grasses, while the butterfly caterpillar waits well camouflaged for its metamorphosis. Blue butterflies dance in the colourful sea of flowers, revealing rare species of orchids and lilies. Little ringed plovers and black-tailed godwits remain observant on their nests as roe deer, hares and ground squirrels venture out of cover to explore their territory.
Go on a photographic expedition through the meadow habitat in this exhibition. A fascinating piece of nature with great significance for biodiversity.
