The Bergisches Land: Landscape meets Macro

What happens when a nature photographer from the Oberberg region strays into the Rhein-Sieg district, makes his home there and years later comes into contact with a nature photographer from the Niederberg region? Nothing at first. But then a friendship developed between two stubborn Bergisch people with a special sense of humour and different photographic focuses, which led to a joint photo project about the Bergisches Land.

After three years of photographing the Bergisches Land together, we realised that the Bergisch cultural landscape conceals an extremely interesting natural landscape.

Some places were completely unknown to us before. It was worth taking a closer look at the nature of our home region. We discovered a variety of habitats that we would not have expected to find on our doorstep.

The Bergisches Land may not offer the most spectacular hotspots, but the countless motif possibilities are a worthwhile destination at any time of year.
