Photo exhibition
We, the Naturfototreff Eschmar, are 16 photographers who not only share a passion for photography. With our pictures, we also want to show the fascinating beauty of our fragile nature and promote a respectful, protective approach to it. Because we are part of it. The theme of this year's exhibition is: Nature in black and white.
Nature photography in black and white is both challenging and fascinating. After all, nature is rich in colour, and colours can be used to send messages and trigger emotions. Fading out colour, on the other hand, draws the viewer's attention directly to the essentials of a motif. In order to develop the effect of a black and white image, we photographers are required to extract our subject from its colourful surroundings before taking the picture and to look at it differently, to see it more intensively.
The subtle interplay of light and shadow takes centre stage in the composition of the image and models lines in the landscape, silhouettes of animals and trees, structures and textures of surfaces on water or rocks. The subtle combination of these elements emphasises the drama of a landscape, the story of an animal and is ultimately the photographer's interpretation. This is what makes black and white photography so fascinating.
We have arranged this exhibition from the spectrum of our nature photography work - from the vast to the intimate landscape, from large African animals to the native world of birds and insects or sophisticated detail and macro shots. Each of us has followed his or her own creative photographic vision. Follow your gaze through nature in black and white.
