In the reading, Carina Wohlleben addresses global issues such as meat production and animal husbandry, industrial agriculture and forestry, the growing world population and the smouldering conflict between old and young, but also talks very personally about her life and the constant balancing act of reconciling environmental protection and everyday life. The realisation that you can reduce your ecological footprint by 25 percent simply by avoiding animal products has prompted Carina Wohlleben to adopt a vegan diet. Using many concrete examples, she demonstrates why it is worth making a commitment to a future worth living and that we have a good chance of changing the world for the better, bit by bit.
Carina Wohlleben, born in 1991 in Adenau (Eifel), studied geography as well as nature conservation and landscape ecology in Bonn. In 2021, she completed further training as a vegan nutritionist and has been offering vegan cookery courses and online courses in addition to nutritional advice ever since. She shares her experiences and recipes with a growing number of followers on Instagram (@vegan.wohl.leben) and is also co-founder of the vegan online platform Herbivora. Carina Wohlleben lives in Sauerland with her husband and two children.
