Holiday programme
Easter 2025

Behind the scenes of a research museum / 6-9 years

What does a museum actually look like behind the scenes? How is a scientific collection organised and what do the researchers at Museum Koenig work on? We will become researchers ourselves and get a first insight into the various scientific collections. Please bring a snack for lunch!

Part 1: Wednesday, 23 April 2025, 10:00 - 15:00
On the first day, we will examine and prepare owl pellets in order to investigate the diet of owls and birds of prey in more detail.

Part 2: Thursday, 24 April 2025, 10:00 - 15:00
On the second day, we will focus on the diversity of birds by taking a behind-the-scenes tour of the bird collection (one of the largest in Germany). We will also familiarise ourselves with animal husbandry and take an in-depth look at the differences between reptiles, amphibians and fish.

Participation is possible for one or both days. Please register separately for each day.
