Thuringian meadows
06 April, 10:00 a.m.
The Thürer Wiesen are a nature reserve near Andernach, which is particularly known for its diversity of birds. This year, among others, a red-throated diver and a short-toed eagle have strayed there, let's see if there is also a highlight there in April.
Eagle owls and rock buntings at Drachenfels
26 April, 16:00
This year we will also visit the eagle owl breeding pair at Drachenfels, and also hope to see the rock bunting in the vineyards, this time perhaps not just before our train leaves ;)
Birdrace
03 May, 08:00 am
We take part in the Birdrace. In the Birdrace, you have the whole day in small teams to discover as many bird species as possible in a district (e.g. Bonn or the Rhein-Sieg district). This year we would like to form a FörTax team with you.
The Birdrace is always an exciting, but also long and exhausting day, although you can of course only take part in one part. The important thing is that we will be travelling by bike, so you should have a functioning one available in Bonn.
Botany in the Siegaue
10 May, 10:00 a.m.
The Birdrace will also take us to the Siegaue, but a week later we'll go there again for a more relaxed botanical excursion and take a look at the plants there.
Drover Heide (afternoon to evening)
14 June, 15:00
After last year's excursion to Drover Heath was a great success, we would like to do it again. Just like last year, you are welcome to bring your families with you and, if possible, drive to Drover Heide yourself; we can take some of you on the museum bus.
Highlights will hopefully be the night-time nightjars and woodcocks!
Adhesive sand pit in Daaden
12 July, 10:00 a.m.
Daaden in the Westerwald is not only my home town, but also has a lot to offer biologically. The highlight is a former sand pit with many small ponds where we have already found yellow-bellied toads, grass snakes and dragonfly larvae. If you're lucky, you might even see the black storks that live in the forest circling above the village.
