We cordially invite you to the opening of the special exhibition "Multifaceted Insects - Diversity I Endangerment I Protection" (24 October 2025 to 6 September 2026).
Iridescent dragonflies, spiny stick insects, jumping beetles - insects are the most species-rich group of animals on earth. Adapted to a wide variety of habitats, these filigree creatures are an indispensable part of the natural network. Although they are essential for our survival, many insects have a bad reputation among humans - some are even labelled as pests. The interactive travelling exhibition challenges preconceptions and
shows how fascinating and worthy of protection these animals are.
"Multifaceted Insects" provides information about the diversity and endangerment of these six-legged creatures and invites visitors to discover their shapes, colours and abilities. The exhibition also shows the many causes and consequences of the massive decline in insects. It presents proposed solutions on how we can stop this development, both together and personally.
The exhibition was created at the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change (LIB) and is the result of a joint project between the LIB and the NORe Museum Association of the North and Baltic Sea Region.
