Noble butterfly
We are delighted that Klaus Harke has taken over the sponsorship of the noble butterfly Euphaedra themis.
This butterfly is a particularly pretty and colourful specimen from the Nymphalidae family. The adult individuals of the rainforest inhabitants from Sierra Leone in West Africa to Congo in Central Africa reach a wingspan of up to 7.5 cm. Their wing pattern is very variable. The caterpillars are characterised by very long and hairy lateral outgrowths, which make their body contours almost invisible.
