This overview tour deals with relevant connections that are important for the development of the synthetic theory of evolution.
The pupils summarise aspects of evolutionary biology using examples in the exhibition and with a view to ecology and genetics (mutations, natural and sexual selection, handicap principle, admixture, biogeographical rules, adaptive radiation, gene pool, species and speciation, co-evolution, relationships, concept of fitness, homologies, progression and regression series, analogies, convergences, phylogenetic trees, vertebrate landfall, fossils, extinction).
