Animals in the desert

Adaptation phenomena to the extreme desert habitat are analysed using the example of mammals, reptiles and insects. Selected physiological characteristics of desert animals and their behavioural adaptations are also presented. The dromedary and the fennec are emphasised as typical representatives of mammals in the desert.
