After a brief introduction to the African rainforest ecosystem, examples of plant and animal species are presented and their special features with regard to the conditions in the rainforest are worked out. Many rainforest animals are well camouflaged, and this characteristic is emphasised with specific search tasks. In addition, feeding relationships of selected animals are discussed and key species that are largely responsible for the high biodiversity in the rainforest are dealt with.
