ZFMK members regularly publish in international scientific journals. The museum also publishes two own scientific journals: Bonn zoological Bulletin (formerly: Bonner zoologische Beiträge) and Myotis. The former Bonner zoologische Monographien has been integrated in Bonn zoological Bulletin. In addition, members of ZFMK regularly are involved in the publication of books.

The ZFMK became a member of the consortium in 2018 and since then active supports the production of EJT and its aim to publish descriptive taxonomy to high scientific and technical standards.
