Abstract:
The male of Tanymecosticta filiformis (Ris, 1898) from New Britain island, Papua New Guinea, previously known only from the incomplete male holotype specimen, is redescribed based on specimens collected during recent odonatological surveys, and the female is described for the first time. Comparative notes on T. fissicollis (Lieftinck, 1932) from mainland New Guinea are added.
